Join Citywide Community Service Effort To Make Dallas Parks

Cleaner and Greener!

It’s My Park Day Spring 2012 is a community service initiative park to encourage citizens to help enhance parks citywide. Individuals, families, homeowners’ associations, and civic groups are invited to organize beautification, recycling or clean-up activities at parks in their neighborhoods.
Established and newly organized friends groups, sports and athletic clubs, students, homeowners’ and neighborhood associations, environmental coalitions, and community social and civic organizations can get involved as It’s My Park Day volunteers. They can organize volunteer projects at a park in their community to help with litter and debris pick up, graffiti removal, weeding, mulching, and planting flowers. In addition to the beautification efforts, other It’s My Park Day activities can include live music, an educational component, a picnic, or other activities.
With more than 20,000 acres of park land in Dallas, volunteers are vital in assisting Dallas Park and Recreation Department in maintaining parks. It’s My Park Day is another way those with a passion for parks can improve the quality of life in Dallas. Citizen involvement is key to the present and future success of urban parks.
